Join our volunteer projects in Peru in 2023 where we have different projects available. You can start every Monday, and you can join from 2 weeks up to 8 weeks. You can combine the projects and create your own program!

Location & Accommodation

 The projects are located Cajamarca and Chiclayo. Most projects are located in Cajamarca. Only the Endangered Animal Sanctuary and Surfing & Beach Cleaning are located in Chiclayo.

Located only a short distance away from Cajamarca city, which is the capital and largest city of Peru’s Cajamarca Region, enriched in culture and history, this quiet location provides a relaxing atmosphere after a day out. The accommodation has a beautiful view of the Andes Mountain Range and is close to the Amazon Rainforest, it will bring you back to South American nature.

Chiclayo is the capital city of northwest Peru’s Lambayeque region.

You will be met upon arrival on Sunday. You will be picked up by the local team and transferred to your accommodation to meet the other international volunteers. We will provide you with full arrival and contact details when you book your program.

On the Monday of your first week, there is an orientation by your coordinator, so you can get comfortable with the surroundings as well as the local culture.

The accommodation is in shared rooms with other volunteers. Throughout the journey, you will be accommodated in basic but clean single-gender dorm-style rooms. The rooms will be shared with other volunteers. There are 3 meals included per day from Monday to Friday, and 2 meals per day on weekends.

Culture Week

The culture week is an action-packed week full of exciting adventures and cultural excursions to immerse yourself in the Cape Verdean culture!

This week can be added to your program as your first week.

You will gain first-hand insight into the history, the language, and the diversity of cultures, all while exploring the sights that make Cajamarca a gem in the Northern Andes. Our Culture Week will prepare you for your stay in Cajamarca by giving you a brief insight into the country’s background, customs, language, culture, and history.

Immerse yourself in northern Peruvian culture and have a breathtaking week at the same time with this introductory program.

Teaching Project

This week you will assist teachers of primary or secondary schools in rural areas of Northern Peru. You will work with a local Peruvian teacher in their class and support them in their day-to-day classroom activities and lessons. You can also engage in other fun and active extra-curricular activities! You can play games, dramas, songs, and activities that will help the students learn in a fun way!

You will be teaching conversational English and other related subjects to help the children do well in their education, and to prepare them for their future careers with English language skills.

Kindergarten Project

This project will be flexible based on the needs of the teacher in the school. If she needs help making teaching materials, painting the classroom, organising the children, playing games, constructing lessons, singing, etc, you are expected to help!

This week is for you to get up close and personal with the local pre-schoolers of rural Peru and help out with daily activities around their kindergarten! You will be helping out in the day-to-day classroom activities in the kindergarten and will be able to assist the teachers in lessons. You can teach children English and engage in various activities and games in the classroom. The children are between 2-4 years old and will be waiting to meet you and learn from you.

Special Needs Care

This week, spend your time and effort to help out at a local children’s home in Peru and be a part of improving the lives of the physically and mentally disabled children from the streets. In this placement, you can help the children by teaching, helping in daily therapy sessions, and day to day activities at the centre where your help and presence will be appreciated and highly valued.

This program is for those looking to assist this special needs center in a variety of ways. You will be part of daily therapy sessions, helping the local staff with disabled care, and interacting with these special children. After this program you are sure to gain a new appreciation for life and caring for others!

Eco Build Experience

Help improve living standards for local families by providing eco friendly maintenance, renovation or construction, of their mud homes and community facilities.

Even if you have never built anything before, you can learn, as you participate in our program which will use eco friendly Tapial or Rammed Earth construction methods. This green building project is good for the environment and good for the people who will get to use it. You’ll immerse yourself in Peruvian culture in a very unique way!

Endangered Animal Sanctuary

Improve the lives of endangered species native to the coast and jungle of Peru. Support the good works at the centre that supports the Humboldt Penguins!

This project is located in the North of Peru, in the main city of Chiclayo.

Take part in activities that will help build and maintain safe habitats for vulnerable animals and stop a further decline in their numbers. Efforts to assist Humboldt Penguins continue, but are challenging. Your ongoing help is needed! The energy you put in, will truly help many endangered animals out!

Try your hand as the assistant warden in a private Peruvian animal sanctuary, – open to all lovers of wildlife, and especially perfect for those who are conservationists or students of nature and zoology. Veterinary Dogs Clinic

Spend your time with an animal population control program where your expertise, knowledge and affection for them will go towards vital veterinary services! You will be working with a skilled team of local veterinarians and vet students to provide quality veterinary care and educational services. Even if you are not a professional in the veterinary field, you can still contribute in a variety of ways to help this program.

Even if you don’t have the previous veterinarian experience to treat our friends with paws or tails, you can partake in this program and demonstrate your passion for animals, providing support, companionship and feeding and caring for them. You can bathe, brush, and walk them, and clean cages!

Surfing & Beach Cleaning

This project is located in the North of Peru, in the main city of Chiclayo. This program is an add-on week where you can enjoy the ocean outdoors with Surfing. Pimentel is a great surfing destination as the weather forecasts are pleasant all year round. It has the perfect wave conditions to attract sports addicts from all over the world! You can join a local surfing school, take 2 hours a day hours of classes and enjoy the perfect conditions Peru has to offer for surfing. The community beach cleaning program includes, but is not limited to, beach clean-ups, recycling projects, swim classes for children, creating gardens, painting and English classes, and many activities more.

Join local and international Archeology teams that assess and support the research and investigation as well as in the preservation programs of vast archaeological sites, from 15 thousand years/millennial rupestrian paints to Pre-Inca sites, Inca trails, Pre Columbian and Colonial cities of Northern Peru.

This program is only for those with experience in archeology.

Join our local team that assess and support the locals by teaching them techniques on hydroponics; the rural village where we have set up our headquarters is a land where draughts and poor soil are the biggest problem faced, we want to change this reality and bring the rural families in need into sustainable food solutions for them and their livestock.

Be ready to put on the shirt that says “Do it the Green Way” and help us incorporate sustainable practices that will improve not only food and forage supply but also the community life quality standard.

This program is only for those with experience in Hydroponics.

Our base prices are in Euro, but you can pay in Euro, US$ and Pounds. The prices will be at the currency exchange rate from the Euro at the time of payment. Click here to check the prices in your currency.

With us there are NO Registration Fees, NO administration fees, and you can easily combine the different projects

For Eco Build/Veterinary Dogs Clinic/Surfing & Beach Cleaning there is an extra fee per week of 45 Euro
For the Culture Week/Endangered Animal Sanctuary/Archaeology/Hydroponics there is an extra fee per week of 105 Euro

Not included:
A 5% international banking fee is added.
Visa, flights, travel insurance, vaccinations, criminal background check, Covid tests (if required), transport to your project and back to the accommodation every day, return trip to the airport, transfers between different locations.

Requirements to join:

  • Volunteers need to be minimum 18 years old
  • Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent
  • Volunteers aged 16-17 are required to have parental consent
  • Volunteers are required to provide a criminal background check
  • Volunteers are required to have volunteer travel insurance
  • Volunteers might need to have a Covid test done before departure (we will inform you of this)

1. Apply: Fill out the Application Form (click below) and we will let you know if you are accepted within 24 hours.
2. Deposit: Once accepted you pay your deposit (200 Euro or 215 US$) to reserve you place in the program.
3. Remaining Fees: You pay the remaining fees of your program, minus the deposit which you already paid, six weeks before your start date of your program.
